Rebecca Hairston

An elemental exploration of cosmic belonging

About the artist

Rebecca Hairston is a multidisciplinary artist and lighting designer whose work explores the relationship between memory, nature, vulnerability, and the human experience. Working across experiential installation, sculpture, light, and textural environments, she creates worlds that invite audiences to encounter what exists beyond language and ordinary perception. Her practice moves between the intimate and the immense, the natural and the surreal, using sensory experience to explore the truths we carry and the forces that connect us all. Her works include "Crystal Kiss Garden – Buried Truths", an exploration of childhood sexual abuse, the beauty we construct around painful truths, and the silence that keeps them buried. "Estoy", a sculptural meditation on how the experiences that shape us become inseparable from who we are, and how when we accept the truth of what we have endured, only then can genuine transformation take place. And "The Cradle Field", a multisensory exploration of surrender, belonging, and the idea that we are neither separate nor alone, but continually supported, protected, and sustained by the often imperceptible forces of the Earth and the Cosmos. At the heart of her practice is a belief that art should create space for vulnerability, discovery, and personal revelation.
