Lynn Heinz

About the artist

Lynn Heinz lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her BA in Art History from UCLA. Always an artist, Lynn had the opportunity in high school to study figure drawing with Charles White at Otis Art Institute. This was a moment that cemented her goal to become a working artist. We all have a narrative that tells the story of our lives. Using vintage photos, Lynn shows the images we go back to over and over again that become the framework of our life stories. It becomes difficult to separate the real people and events from these static, unchanging images. To make the paintings, she edits, recombines, and recontextualizes the images to show how we are all unreliable narrators of our own lives.
