About the artist
Guillermo Bert is a Los Angeles-based multimedia artist whose work explores immigration, identity, labor, memory, and belonging. His practice combines sculpture, textiles, video, and installation with technologies including QR codes, 3D scanning, laser cutting, and augmented reality. His ongoing series The Warriors uses life-size, digitally fabricated wood sculptures to honor Latino and immigrant essential workers, connecting technology with personal stories and human experience. Bert’s work has been exhibited at LACMA, the Nevada Museum of Art, and the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA), and is held in the permanent collections of LACMA, the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, and the RISD Museum. Bert has maintained his studio at the Brewery Arts Complex for more than 30 years. He is also the founder of LA Laser Cutting Services, a Los Angeles fabrication studio regularly used by artists, designers, and brands in Los Angeles and across the country.
